The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for an Admissions and Records Assistant 1 for the Enrollment Services department. ***This position does not provide layoff rights and is contingent upon funding. This position will evaluate domestic applications and academic transcripts for students seeking admission to the university in undergraduate degree programs, enter results from evaluations into the PeopleSoft database to trigger communications to students and to update students' statuses, complete assigned queries and reports by the scheduled deadlines, reconcile records, provide exceptional customer service, assistance, guidance and communication of correct information and policies to prospective and current students and parents, make residency decisions based from the strict guidelines from the university catalog, and other duties as assigned.
This position requires graduation from high school or equivalent education and one (1) year of general clerical experience which included maintaining records and public contact; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm; this is subject to change based on organizational needs.
Grade 23 (Entry, Step 01 $15.19/hr. - Step 04 $17.09/hr.)
In classified service, salary is in Grade and Step. The Step is determined based on the Nevada Administrative Code. Salary placement above a Step 01 at initial appointment is determined based on the recruitment, the candidate's qualifications, internal equity and budgets. A request to accelerate salary must be approved by Human Resources and abide by the Nevada Administrative Code.
