Work Schedule: Monday Friday, 8:00 AM 5:00 PM; This is a temporary trainee position to end on or before twelve months of training in the program. Upon successful completion, the incumbent may move to the Student Services Professional I-Range B classification.

About the Position:
The Office of Admissions is responsible for determining student eligibility for admission to the University, processes and evaluates applications and transcripts, determining residency status, and reviewing appeals for exception to University Policy. We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our team as an Admissions Application and Imaging Center Associate (Student Services Professional I-Range A). The ideal candidate in this role should have a positive attitude and an active, energetic mind that is characterized by highly ethical practices and a commitment to diversity, openness, flexibility, integrity, and kindness.

Under the close supervision of the Director and/or Associate Director of Admissions, the Admissions Application and Imaging Center Associate (AAICA) functions in a trainee capacity performing responsibilities that are well structured following established procedures and guidelines. The AAICA commits to providing the highest level of quality service, professionalism, and contributing towards a total team environment. The AAICA serves and supports customers by providing information, guidance, and advisement regarding the University's application and admissions program policies and procedures, communicates the outcome of the review and assessment of pertinent documents, and advises alternatives available to achieve eligibility for admission using the basic interviewing techniques. The AAICA defers to higher-level student services professionals and/or their managing supervisor(s) when encountering unprecedented and undefined topics and issues. In addition, the incumbent will carry out work consistent with the goals and objectives aligned with those of the University and Division of Student Affairs as appropriate. Should possess working knowledge of the basic principles of the application and admissions area and have the ability to research and observe techniques for the purpose of recording and interpreting information, gather and analyze data, reason logically. Other duties as assigned.


Essential Qualifications:
Bachelors degree or the equivalent from an accredited four-year college or university in one of the behavioral sciences, public administration, business administration or other job-related field. Specialized and relevant experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Working knowledge of the basic principles of individual and group behavior, as well as research and observation techniques for the purpose of recording, classifying, and interpreting factual information. Foundational knowledge of the techniques and methods of interviewing. Ability to gather and analyze data. Ability to reason logically, draw valid conclusions, and make appropriate recommendations. Ability to participate in and contribute to group meetings, conferences, and interviews. Ability to clearly express ideas and make recommendations. Ability to write clear and concise reports. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.

A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.


Preferred Qualifications:
Previously successful experience working within a large university or college, specifically undergraduate admissions. Knowledge of PeopleSoft and OnBase.
