Job Summary

The University Registrar is the senior leader of the Office of the Registrar reporting to the Vice President for Enrollment Management. The position is responsible for the leadership and management of all functions of the Office of the Registrar in a multiple campus environment.

Responsibilities
  • Oversees the management of policies, processes, and operations of the Registrar's Office and provide leadership, innovation, vision, and accountability for the management of all records, registration policies, and services that support student success.
  • Oversees, administers, and interprets University academic policies and regulations.
  • Oversees the conformity of educational record use, dissemination, and privacy of student information to University policies and legal requirements, including the Family Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)and other applicable laws and regulations. This includes serving as the University Privacy Officer and University Data Steward for student academic records.
  • Oversees and ensures effective and efficient operation in collaboration with the Office of Technology Resources the use of systems for student information, and the identification and implementation of new systems.
  • Promotes and maintains effective relationships with faculty, staff, and academic partners across campus and other institutions, collaborating on issues relating to curriculum, university policies, and other areas of the Registrar responsibilities. This includes chairing and serving on university and University System of Georgia committees.
  • Supervises, trains, manages, evaluates, and develops staff within the office while ensuring the department is student centered, responding to university needs, and operating effectively and efficiently.
  • Maintains the University's student records, including archived student records, in all formats according to industry standards, requirements of accreditors, and University policies. Directs the management of academic records; serves as Records Custodian; responds to legal subpoenas, student records documentation court requests, and audits.
  • Reviews, validates, and corrects reports to the University System of Georgia Board of Regents.
  • Coordinates the Academic and related calendars.
  • Serves as the university Veterans Certification Officer.
  • Other duties as assigned.

    Required Qualifications
  • Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of a master's degree in a course of study related to the occupational field.
  • Experience sufficient to thoroughly understand the diverse objectives and functions of the subunits in the division/department in order to direct and coordinate work within the division/department, usually interpreted to require five to seven years of related experience.
